Throughout his life, David understood the need for unwavering dependence upon God. The following passages focus our attention on the faithfulness of God:
2 SAMUEL 22:2-4, 47
The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer;
The God of my strength, in whom I will trust;
My shield and the horn of my salvation,
My stronghold and my refuge;
My Savior, You save me from violence.
I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised;
So shall I be saved from my enemies.
One thing I have desired of the LORD, that will I seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the LORD
All the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the LORD,
And to inquire in His temple.
For in the time of trouble
He shall hide me in His pavilion;
In the secret place of His tabernacle
He shall hide me;
He shall set me high upon a rock.
Take time today to recount God’s faithfulness in your life and be reminded of the need to depend on Him.
