The Lord of hosts will visit His flock (Zechariah 10)
“I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph. I will bring them back because I have mercy on them.”
“I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph. I will bring them back because I have mercy on them.”
“Hear the word of the LORD, O nations,
And declare it in the isles afar off, and say,
‘He who scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him as a shepherd does his flock.’
“Behold, the days are coming,” says the LORD,
“When . . . I will plant them in their land, and no longer shall they be pulled up from the land I have given them,” Says the LORD your God.
Therefore prophesy and say to them, “Thus says the Lord GOD: ‘Behold, O My people, I will open your graves and cause you to come up from your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.'”
Love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind . . . love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.
“I have made a covenant with My chosen, I have sworn to My servant David: ‘Your seed I will establish forever, and build up your throne to all generations.'” Selah!
Christians are familiar with part of God’s message to Solomon. We eagerly embrace the broader application for ourselves, but either ignore or forget that God’s promise was specific to the people of Israel and the land of Israel.
