SUNDAY MEDITATION (Isaiah 61:10-11)
[M]y soul shall be joyful in my God; for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
Who can approach God?
Rather than succumbing to the pressure of ambition, career, finances, possessions, pleasure or any other gods seeking to usurp authority over life, resolve to make God your priority.
FOUNDATION: Go Up to Bethel
At Bethel, God not only confirmed Jacob’s name change to Israel, He reiterated and connected the covenantal blessing to all of Jacob-Israel’s descendants—“the children of Israel.”
SUNDAY MEDITATION (Psalm 108:1-5)
David’s praise wasn’t compartmentalized or limited to a specific period of time. His worship began before sunrise—was exuberant—was accompanied by musical instruments— and testified to God’s grace among the nations!
Do you know the ordinances of the heavens?
Can you bind the cluster of the Pleiades, or loose the belt of Orion? Can you bring out Mazzaroth in its season? Or can you guide the Great Bear with its cubs?
