So Abraham went and took the ram, and offered it up for a burnt offering instead of his son. And Abraham called the name of the place, The-Lord-Will-Provide; as it is said to this day, ‘In the Mount of the Lord it shall be provided.’
The announcement was no surprise to Abraham. He had heard it only a few days earlier. The message was for Sarah.
The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
Praise the Lord . . . all peoples . . . praise the name of the Lord, for His name alone is exalted; His glory is above the earth and heaven. Praise the Lord!”
Getting wisdom is the wisest thing you can do! And whatever else you do, develop good judgment. The way of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, which shines ever brighter until the full light of day.
God is not only intensely aware of the broad scope of history as it unfolds on the earth, He is also attentive to what is happening in the lives of individuals.
Walk about Zion; go around her; number her towers; consider well her ramparts; go through her citadels; that you may tell the next generation that this is God—our God forever and ever.
