The Covenantal Son (Genesis 21:1-3)
Before Abraham left Haran, God promised him a land and innumerable descendants. Several times over a period of 25 years, God reaffirmed His promise. Now, Sarah had given birth to a son!

Why did you laugh? (Genesis 18:10-14)
The announcement was no surprise to Abraham. He had heard it only a few days earlier. The message was for Sarah.
Then Abraham Fell on His Face and Laughed (Genesis 17)
God said: “No, Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac; I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his descendants after him.”
Do Not Be Afraid, Abram (Genesis 15:1, 6)
“Do not be afraid, Abram. I AM your shield, your exceedingly great reward.” And he [Abram] believed in the LORD, and He accounted it to him for righteousness.
So He Brought Back All the Goods (Genesis 14:13-16)
When Lot and his family were taken captive, Abram quickly assembled a veritable fighting force from the servants born in his household numbering 318 men strong. Not willing to use his 80 plus years as an excuse to sit on the sidelines, he took charge of the operation and followed the offending armies in hot pursuit.
Is Not the Whole Land Before You? (Genesis 13:5-9)
So Abram said to Lot, “Please let there be no strife between you and me, and between my herdsmen and your herdsmen; for we are brethren. Is not the whole land before you?
